Aims and basic principles
The EATCS Summer School Series is devoted to attractive topics in theoretical computer science, covering all of the three TCS tracks.
The series aims at promoting TCS at European level, stimulating international contacts, and helping young scientists to establish personal contacts with leading researchers in their field. The programme is focused mainly on beginning PhD students and exceptionally talented master students and undergraduates. The theme of the summer school changes every year and reflects recent advances in TCS.
A special emphasis is put both on assembling a top-quality scientific programme and keeping the overall participation costs modest. The typical number of participants in each edition of the summer school ranges from 100 to 130, and the programme typically fits within one week.
